The AISA geoportal provide the means to search for spatial data sets and spatial data services, on socio-economic, demographic and geographical data for the African continent. AISA aims at making available relevant, harmonized and quality geographic information to promote research excellence and support formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and activities across the African Continent.

This version is a prototype AISA geoportal and allows for discovery and viewing of spatial data sets and services. Its main thrust is to display datasets derived from various open data sources and purified using data mining approaches together with data profiling techniques to derive good quality and comprehensive data. The prototype AISA geoportal is thus a data warehouse with associated applications providing a broad range of information related to demographic data, political data, regional economic data and geographical data.
